Sneak Attack!

I love, love, love hearing about random acts of kindness and there’s one I found out about today that really tickles me.  PhippsArt, an Etsy shop owner, has started a movement called “Sneak Attack.”  (That’s a PhippsArt original tee-shirt below.)  The idea is to promote Etsy shops that haven’t yet had a lot of traffic but that seem to have nice quality products.  The goal is for the seller to end up with a dozen or more sales in a very short period of time.   According to the discussion on Etsy forums, grateful shop owners have come close to tears in response.

The shop name is  announced on The Handmade Movement web site at a preset date and time, participants rush to that shop and each buy an item.   Shops are chosen randomly, but must have a number of quality items for sale at less than $10.

Upcoming attacks are scheduled as follows:
Wed., Oct. 8, 7pm EST. Sponsored by sockmonkeygreetings
Thurs., Oct. 9, 7pm EST. Sponsored by kitsandcaboodles
Fri., Oct. 10, 2pm EST. Sponsored by DreamersWeb
Mon., Oct. 13, 2pm EST. Sponsored by AnnieKints

There’s discussion and more details on the Etsy forums and The Handmade Movement.  Take part and have fun!
